A collection of 60 photographs tell the story of World War II from the Soviet perspective

The Turkey-Russia Friendship Society and the Russian Embassy jointly held an opening ceremony and cocktail reception on April 25 at the IC Art Gallery in Ankara for a photography exhibition titled, “60 Images of War.” The exhibition was held on the 60th anniversary of the victory over the Nazis.
Turkey-Russia Friendship Society President Kemal Baytaþ and Russian Ambassador to Turkey Petr V. Stegniy co-hosted the reception, which was attended by many guests including the ambassadors of Georgia, Venezuela, Macedonia, Austria, Algeria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Belgium, Tunisia and Cuba, as well as Saadet (happiness or contentment) Party Chairman Recai Kutan and Professor Ýlber Ortaylý.
The horror the Soviet Union endured at the hands of the Nazis is depicted in the exhibition by 60 moving photographs.
The Soviet death toll from World War II is said to be an unthinkable 27.6 million and the people who were wounded or suffered war-related disorders exceeded 30 million.
