The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Turkey visits Eskisehir
On March 21, 2014, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Turkey Andrey Karlov visited the
Turkish province of Eskisehir to attend the ceremony of transfer of the title "Cultural capital of the Turkic
world" to the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, Kazan.
During the visit, he met with the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Airat
Sibgatullin and the Governor of Eskisehir Province Gungor Azim Tuna. In the course of the talks, they discussed issues
of economic and cultural cooperation between the province and Russian regions. The Russian Ambassador congratulated the
Governor on the holyday of Nowruz and on the successful completion of the year of "Eskisehir, the cultural capital
of the Turkic world".
The delivery ceremony of the title to Kazan took place in the evening with the participation of the Deputy Prime
Minister of Turkey Emrullah Isler, the Minister of National Education Nabi Avci and the Secretary General of the
International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY Dusen Kaseinov. Then a numerous audience enjoyed bright concert of
music and dancing groups from Russia and CIS countries.
