President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev sent his condolences to President of Turkey Abdullah Gül following terrorist attacks in Istanbul that have caused many victims.

It was with profound sorrow that we learned the tragic news of the explosions in Istanbul that have caused much loss of life, Mr Medvedev said in his telegram. We resolutely condemn these barbaric acts of terrorism that bring death and suffering to innocent people.

I express my sincere condolences to you, the victims families and the Turkish people, and I wish a swift recovery to all who were injured.

The terrorist attacks took place on the 27th of July in a district of Istanbul. The latest reports say that 17 people were killed and more than 150 injured.
