Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu
On December 13, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov received a telephone call from Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
The ministers exchanged opinions on the situation in Syria and called for ending the violence there as soon as possible, in particular in Aleppo. They highlighted the importance of bringing security to Aleppo civilians and delivering humanitarian aid to them with the assistance of international organisations. Both parties reaffirmed their countries' resolve to actively fight international terrorism.
Sergey Lavrov conveyed condolences to Mevlut Cavusoglu on the recent terrorist attack in Istanbul.
The ministers also discussed cooperation at the Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) in light of Turkey's upcoming Chairmanship-in-Office.
