Russian President Vladimir Putin Speaks to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by Telephone
A telephone conversation took place on March 24 between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Putin congratulated Erdoğan on his confirmation as the Prime Minister of Turkey.
Both sides reaffirmed their intention to further develop many-sided Russian-Turkish cooperation in various fields. In this connection specific questions of bilateral collaboration were discussed, including in the fuel and energy sector.
In exchanging views on the Iraq crisis, the similarity of the positions of Russia and Turkey was noted in favor of the earliest possible cessation of hostilities and in favor of getting the settlement process back on the peaceful track under the aegis of the United Nations Security Council.
