Press-Release on the Work of International Media in the Run-up to and Throughout FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia

At the forthcoming World Cup Russia all journalists will traditionally be distinguished in three categories:

  1. Large TV companies that hold the rights to broadcast the World Cup 2018 events in their home countries
  2. FIFA-accredited journalists
  3. Journalists not accredited by FIFA

Each of the above groups of journalists is to comply with its specific accreditation rules and enjoy its privileges and other organizational and technical benefits.

Throughout World Cup 2018, the broadcasting companies will benefit from a number of services significantly facilitating their work in Russia during the tournaments.

Visas

The formalities have been streamlined for media and business visas to be issued at the direct invitation of the Russia 2018 LOC or by virtue of a letter confirming the FIFA accreditation.

It is important to note that the FIFA accreditation has the effect of MFA accreditation for foreign rightholders throughout World Cup 2018 (no need to obtain an MFA card).

Such accreditation for rightholders is valid from May 14,2018 to July 22, 2018.

Free transport

All the FIFA-accredited journalists without exception can use public transport free of charge in the World Cup host cities.

Free travel is also available on trains between cities hosting the tournament.

Accommodation

All rightholders are given an opportunity to lodge at the official FIFA- accredited hotels. Complimentary shuttles from these hotels to the stadiums will also be provided.

Licensing

Throughout the World Cup, a simplified procedure for obtaining radio frequency licenses is envisaged for the rightholders. Such licenses are issued by the Russia 2018 LOC. Frequencies are provided free of charge.

Upon arrival to each host city airport, there are priority lines at passport control available to the rightholders.

In addition, to facilitate shooting of the arrivals of their teams, a uniform procedure is established for all rightholders to access the airports of World Cup host cities and cities where the teams' training facilities are located.

It is worth mentioning that the rightholders will also enjoy simplified customs procedures.

For all questions related to the work of rightholders please contact: Ms. Varvara Ignatova, Head of Broadcast Relations, Russia 2018 LOC, tel.: +7 (925) 999-29-77.

Single provider of television and technical services

To maximize the efficiency of interaction with the rightholders, ??? "Natsionalny Sportivny Telekanal" ("Match TV") has been designated as the single provider of television, technical and information services that has all necessary technical and creative resources to organize all kinds of filming as well as shooting of television spots and documentaries in Moscow and other host cities. This arrangement allows to provide a full range of services to foreign companies in a centralized and highly professional manner, as well as adequate control.
